Tyrese Slams Ex-Wife Samantha Lee On New Single ‘Love Transaction’
Tyrese Gibson is still sour about having to fork over $20k a month to his ex-wife Samantha Lee … and he let it be known on his new single “Love Transaction.”
“Thought that love shouldn’t cost a thing. So why must I pay all these lawyer fees? Need a resolution, was it an illusion? Can’t get no satisfaction. And now you’ve got me asking, is this love? Oh, is this love? Or is it just a transaction?,” he sings on the just over 5 minute track.
In the second verse of the song, Tyrese talks more about the business part of the divorce and remembers his ex-wife “dragging” him “in and out of court.” He also accuses Lee of trying to take everything he’s been working for from him, alluding to her wanting the money for herself and not their child.
“20,000 isn’t child support, we both know just who that money’s for.”
Gibson and Lee parted ways in 2020 after 3 years of marriage and their split has been anything but amicable.
In April Tyrese was ordered to pay Samantha and her attorneys a whopping $636,000. A Fulton County judge upped the sum after he refused to pay $10k/month way back in August of last year. The judge also held him in contempt.
Gibson also released another song titled “Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me,” featuring Lenny Kravitz and Le’andria Johnson, and the title pretty much says it all.
The 44-year-old singer is readying the release of his new album Beautiful Pain and we have a feeling they’ll be lots more songs about Lee — especially since his divorce still isn’t finalized.
