Jennifer Hough Drops Harassment Suit Against Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is starting off the new year on a high note.
The harassment lawsuit filed against her by her husband’s rape accuser — Jennifer Hough — has been dropped.
“The case against Nicki was voluntarily dismissed. The case against Kenneth Petty is still ongoing. Stay tuned!” Hough’s lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, told PEOPLE.
TMZ was first to report the news.
Jennifer sued Nicki in August, claiming she harassed and threatened her in an attempt to get her to change her story about what happened with Kenneth.
Hough says in her suit that she suffered mental anguish for years after the attack — and then was targeted by Minaj when Petty was arrested in 2020 for failing to register as a sex offender in California over her case.
One month after filing suit, Hough appeared on The Real and recounted the day she was allegedly raped by Petty, describing the fear she has experienced ever since he married the “Super Bass” rapper.
Nicki’s attorneys say they plan to fight for money lost in legal fees. Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Bernstein, also sent a scathing email to Blackburn calling him a quote “bottom feeding lawyer … who pursue frivolous action against a celebrity.”
“It is just the beginning of Nicki’s and my efforts to make you pay for your disgraceful conduct with both money and, if the Court recommends it, disciplinary sanctions,” Bernstein said.
As previously reported, Hough claims she was raped by Petty at knifepoint in 1994 after coming in contact with him on her way to school. She was 16 years old at the time. Petty was later arrested and served four years in state prison on first-degree attempted rape charges.
Minaj has been in a relationship with Petty since 2018, and the two share an 11-month-old son.
