Nicki Minaj Didn’t Attend Met Gala Because Of COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate
Tons of your favorite celebs hit up the MET Gala but Nicki Minaj was NOT one of them
The rap superstar revealed that she would not be attending because guests are required to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’m working on that now.”
She added, “In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one 🙏❤️”
Shortly after posting, many of her loyal Barbz urged her to rethink her stance on vaccines.
Still, Minaj doubled down revealing that she previously caught the virus. “I had the exact same symptoms as ppl with the damn vaccine,” she wrote.
Minaj also skipped Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, saying she would “explain why another day.”
While it’s not clear if the VMAs also had a vaccine mandate it’s safe to say anyone attending the MET was pro-vaccine.
MSNBC host Joy Reid took issue with Minaj for encouraging the Black community to not get vaccinated.
Minaj clapped back at Reid and called her “uncle tomiana” and “thirsty” for jumping to “spread a false narrative about a black woman.”
The two white men sittin there nodding their heads cuz this uncle tomiana doing the work chile. How sad. https://t.co/4UviONyTHy
