Meek Mill Explains Why He Gave Kids Selling Water Only $20
When trying to give back (and stunt while doing so) goes terrible wrong. While trying to help some kids that were selling water on the street, Meek Mill inadvertently played himself and is currently enduring a social media roasting for his efforts.
Over the weekend Meek posted a video of himself in the driver seat of his $400,000 Rolls Royce surround by young kids trying to sell him water. They rapper handed one of the kids $20 and asked “what is we supporting?” The “Atl Runtz”, as Mill labeled them, responded by saying, “the water hustle.” Apparently, that type of hustle only begets twenty bucks from Meek and right before he rolled away, someone in the car could be heard telling all seven kids to “split” the money.

Of course, the video immediately caused criticism with many pointing out how Meek did the absolute minimum to help out those youngin’s…

That’s a disgrace and then say split the change. Meek keep your $20. And to those young kids don’t support his music. This is the time we need to be extra supportive to people in need and his dusty ass says “keep the change!” Wow! #MeekMill #boybye

#MeekMill has just demonstrated how to alienate your community and make them wonder why they ever supported you. If you don't want to give graciously in this climate, (especially when you have been blessed with so much), don't give at all. We see who you are.

Meek later replied to the internet fodder by saying the kids actually appreciated the meager, yet thoughtful, gift.

In a now deleted post, Mill also showed footage of one of the kids flashing lots of cash and captioned it, “they be having more money than some of ya’ll … I can’t relate to the internet I just post … make sure ya’ll go help them kids out if ya’ll concerned!”
Now, we all know that the “Dreams and Nightmares” MC has been generous in the past. He donated his 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom as part of the All-In Challenge to benefit food charities in the wake of COVID-19. But, does this latest display of frugal-ness make you see him a different light?
