Janet Hubert Clears The Air With Will Smith: “You Have Freed Me From This Prison”

It was an emotional roller coaster for everyone involved in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion — but the tears flowed in overdrive when Will Smith and Janet Hubert finally came face-to-face and healed decades-old wounds.

The special aired on HBO Max Wednesday night and if Twitter is any indication, there wasn’t a dry eye in any ones house.

The reunion included the entire cast who met on the set of the hit 90s sitcom and relived old times, reminisced about the good days, and remembered the legacy of the late James Avery. But, the most talk about moment is when the OG Aunt Viv and the Fresh Prince himself made amends.

The conversation was not without it’s tough moments. Hubert revealed she was pregnant and in an abusive marriage during the third season of the show, which ultimately ended up being her last. During that trying time, Janet shared that a 21-year-old Will certainly didn’t make things easy for her — and essentially damaged her reputation in Hollywood.

The rift caused bad blood between the two for about 3 decades, but the reunion repaired those deep wounds and gave Hubert the healing she need. She even expressed that sentiment on Twitter…
