Tone Deaf & Tacky … Kim K’s Million Dollar Birthday Trip Bashed By Fans!
Kim Kardashian sparred no expense for her 40th birthday. The reality TV star reportedly shelled out a cool million dollars for a private 777 to fly her “inner circle” to a private island for a VERY public celebration. And it is that latter part that’s causing fans to call the make-up mogul tone deaf.
Yes, we’re in a pandemic, but that didn’t stop KK from having a good time … nor should it! Mrs. West posted several pic from her bday vacay with friends and family.
She also made sure to let folks know that she took every precaution to make sure the bash was executed safely…
After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. pic.twitter.com/cIFP7Nv5bV

Unfortunately, the joyous celebration was marred by the brutal reaction online. Many fans thought it was tacky and completely tone deaf to flaunt excessive wealth and/or disregard for public health guidelines while most people have been hunkered down in quarantine, have lost jobs, or worse loved ones, due to COVID.

Good for you. I lost four months of pay, still tied up with unemployment and have seen a significant drop in future earnings.
I’m helping my daughters with childcare and virtual school for my granddaughter. Still haven’t gotten my 2019 tax return.
Glad you had fun.— Bathroom Ceiling Fresco (@MariaKChica) October 27, 2020
Are you that insensitive you don’t realise this is not what the majority of people during the worst covid spike yet want to hear? People are going to food banks not private islands.

I had a feeling they weren't the only ones on that island, making all their own food and everything.
Fuck the locals, though, right? They don't count, they're the help.
I hope with all of my heart that none of the employees or locals get sick or otherwise negatively effected.

cool, people have had to say goodbye to loved ones over the phone while they died alone in a hospital. but neat trip to post all over social media while the world suffers. so humble and so down to earth, truly.

For her part, Kim did acknowledge her immense privilege stating, “I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is.” And, or course, she has every right to enjoy her birthday … but do you think she should have refrained from posting it?
