Brandi’s sister Jayde Penn later confirmed that Maxiell had been diagnosed with coronavirus and had been hospitalized on Thursday after having trouble breathing.
“We would like to ask everyone to please keep her in your prayers as she continues to fight through this,” she told The Shade Room. “We love you all and please stay safe!”
Maxiell revealed on Basketball Wives that she battled ovarian cancer in 2007 and went into remission in 2009. In an interview with HipHollywood back in 2014 she shared an update on her health and fertility issues.
“I’m good with the cancer, I have levels that are still up and down, with the fertility I’m doing acupuncture and I do that twice a week just to try and make IVF better,” she explained.
Maxiell and husband, former NBA player Jason Maxiell share a son Jason Maxiell II. At the time they were trying for a second child.
We’re also keeping them in our prayers as this story develops.
