“Don’t Call Me Auntie” … Mary J. Blige Wants Fans To Knock It Off!

Who doesn’t love Mary J. Blige? The songs, the boots, the dance moves … MJB is a whole vibe! And because she’s so fondly admired, fans have taken to affectionately calling her “Auntie Mary”. However, Blige wants these well-meaning fans to chill with all the auntie talk.

Mary loves that her fans feel so close to her that they think of her as family. However, being an auntie just isn’t her steez. Especially, when the fans using the term are OLDER than she is! So, what should Blige stans call her instead? Something even better … sister!

During a chat with HipHollywood, the “Share My World” singer stated, “why can’t I just be your sister?” when asked about the term of endearment. The “Power Book II: Ghost” star even said, “friend in your head,” would work, too!

Look, given the option of calling Mary J. Blige sister or friend seems like a d@mn good compromise! Which would you choose?
