Master P Reveals J. Cole Seriously Training For NBA Tryout
J.Cole is trying to make his hoop dreams a reality.
Earlier this week PUMA dropped a commercial featuring the North Carolina rapper that is narrated by the Master P. In it Cole shows off his hooping skills which led many to wonder if he’s making a career shift.

According to Master P, Cole is indeed training in hopes of getting a shot to make an NBA roster. The No Limit Records head honcho told TMZ Cole he’s got potential.
“He’s got the right size, he’s in gym,” said Master P. “I believe in him and he’s a youngster that has a lot of desire. One good thing he has is he’s been showing people that he’s consistent and he’s been in the gym.”
Master P obviously knows a thing or two about making it to the pros. You recall he earned an NBA contract with 2 different teams in the ’90s — after he was already a famous rap mogul.
“When I talked to J. Cole he was like ‘you did it big dog, what would I have to do to get one of these NBA jerseys?’ I told him this is a different time and they are going to pick you apart. You’re going to have to be able to hit every shot.”
He added, “You’re going to have to go somewhere where they believe in you and the players believe in you. You can’t just go because you are J. Cole.”
The “No Role Models” rapper was a solid baller back in high school and famously tried out for St. Johns during his stint in college, but ultimately decided to focus on music.
