Coins For Love: Essence Atkins And Stephen Bishop Share Advice For An Entanglement-Free Relationship

Essence Atkins and Stephen Bishop teamed up again for the film ‘Coins For Love’ and the film, which is a sequel to ‘Coins For Christmas’, has messy exes written all over it! Now if you don’t want to end up like Will & Jada, you may want to hear the advice the pair gave for an entanglement-free relationship.

Essence, who is single and ready to mingle, says she’s free to be entangled however her costar had another take. Bishop, who welcomed a baby girl in 2017 with girlfriend Jesiree Dizon, says he doesn’t have those entanglement problems.

“I’ve had people try to entangle themselves in my relationships but I try to be smarter than that,” Bishop said. “I’ve ju.st ignored them so that they really get the hint that I’m not going to allow them to entangle themselves. People try to test the waters… they try to poke the bear but I feel its best to just ignore it.”

Essence also chimed in saying, “What we’re seeing and what we’re learning are just reminders that communication and agreements among adult parties is what matters.”

The actress also speaks about the importance of seeking comfort from the right people. In other words, don’t seek marital advice from your single friends!

“When I was married, I remember in my premarital counseling one of the things I stuck with and tried to do is that I was very careful about sharing grievances because no one is there but you and your spouse for the make-up and then they’re just left with the residual “oohs” of your bad day or moment and they don’t get to be apart of the healing part of that so I think it can create a lot of chaos. I bring that up to say that I think it’s very important that we guard our relationships.”

Also, sorry ladies if you had a chance at dating Bishop before then there may not be hope for a rekindled entanglement in the future… exes are exes for a reason!
