Eve Gets Slammed After Revealing Struggle Talking About Race With White Husband

Eve is making it crystal clear that she has ongoing talks about race with her white husband Maximillion Cooper.

In a clip for Tuesday’s episode of The Talk From Home, Eve said after she posted that she’s been having some very “uncomfortable” conversations about race amid social outrage following the death of George Floyd her comment section was in shambles. The rap star said the backlash made her feel “trashed” by others who took the confession as a show of her naivety when it comes to interracial marriage.

“We have had many conversations because I’ve been in this relationship for many years,” she said. “When you enter an interracial relationship, there are conversations you must have — that’s just natural. So this is not the first one. I’ve been having some of the most difficult conversations because we are in one of the most difficult places in our nation, in our world, in this time, so that’s why I said that it was difficult.”

Apparently ya’ll thought E-V-E was new to this not true to this.  Eve, 41, married British entrepreneur Cooper, 47, in 2014 and is stepmother to his four children from a previous marriage. She also said she has constant conversations with her four step-children about race.

“Also, I have four stepchildren who have a black stepmom,” she continued. “So, those conversations were me checking in my four stepchildren who I love, and asking them, hey, has anyone ever said anything to you racially, you know, the fact that you have a proud black stepmother. So, my conversations are difficult, but because we are in a difficult place. I just wanted to clear that up.”

Interestingly Tika Sumpter who is also in an interracial relationship recently shared her thoughts on how black partners should handle their non-black partners during this time.
