Justice For George: Celebs Are Outraged, Minneapolis Residents Experience Unrest
George Floyd’s death has sparked outrage across the nation, but the unrest turned into riots in the city of Minneapolis where the 46-year-old was killed by cops.
Protestors gathered on Tuesday at the same location where officer Derek Chauvin held his knee in George’s neck for several minutes while he pleaded “I can’t breathe.” The march from the site of the arrest to the Minneapolis Police’s 3rd Precinct building was peaceful. However, according to CBS Minnesota, “officers dressed in riot gear formed a barrier around the precinct, and videos show them using smoke bombs or tear gas, as well as flash grenades, against the demonstrators.”

Some residents retreated, while others rioted — but either way, their emotions and actions were a direct reaction to the callous cops who took George Floyd’s life.
The public outrage that was seen on the streets of Minneapolis was also reflected across social media as celebrities postured Colin Kaepernick’s knee next to the knee on Floyd’s neck.
More celebs took to Twitter to express their hurt, anger, rage, and disgust.
How come evil people live so long?

So much of this could have been prevented if we had a president who listened to someone other than himself.

TO CONSISTENTLY VIOLATE ONE'S RIGHT TO BREATH REVEALS THAT THEY DON'T THINK WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE … #BLACKLIVESMATTER

You deserved your breath, your dignity, your life. Not to die in the street, murdered by a white cop’s knee on your neck. You deserve our tears, our prayers, our rage, our action. We must act – for you – and for all of those were no cameras are present. We must. #GeorgeFloyd pic.twitter.com/JeMNUtkXv6

Here's the sad reality: what happened to George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery & Christian Cooper has gone on for generations to Black Americans. Cell phones just made it more visible.
Dismantling systemic racism in our nation starts with demanding justice & holding offenders accountable.
