Source Says Nicki Minaj And Husband Kenneth Petty Have Not Split

For all those wondering Nicki Minaj is still Mrs. Petty. Fans began to question her marital status after she changed her Instagram name to “Barbie” and her Twitter name to “YIKES,” after her latest single. The subtle move quickly had folks on Twitter assuming Nicki and her husband Kenneth Petty had split.

Now sources close to the Queen Barbs are setting the record straight and apparently the Petty’s are doing just fine.

“Nicki Minaj is still with her man,” a source told Page Six. “It’s just business as usual for her highness as she prepares to release new music.”

We have to say Minaj is usually much more active on social so her did seem out of the norm. She hasn’t posted any pictures since she and Kenneth went to Trinidad back in February for Carnival. There was some drama on the trip and Nicki had to apologize for her husband’s behavior after Kenneth put hands on another artist who was performing next to his wife.

Shortly after the trip when they came back home to Los Angeles, Kenneth was arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California. He was released on a $100,000 bond and has to wear an ankle monitor and adhere to a court-mandated curfew. He also has travel restrictions, but luckily since there’s a global pandemic, there aren’t many places he could go any way.

We know Minaj is ride or die for her man but didn’t publicly address the situation. Minaj and Petty got hitched back in October. The Queens-bred rapper made the announcement on social media and around the same time she changed her Twitter handle to Mrs. Petty.
