Music legend Bill Withers passed away on Monday at the age of 81. His family confirmed the news on Friday stating the singer died due to complications from a “heart condition”.

William “Bill” Harrison Withers Jr. was born on July 4, 1938, in Slab Fork, W.Va. He rose to fame in the 70s with the release of his debt album, “Just as I Am,” and a string of hits that are not uncommon to still hear today. Bill was the recipient of three Grammy awards, an NAACP Image Award, and a slew of other honors.
