DJ D-Nice Keeps IG Live With ‘Social Distancing Dance Party’
While some celebs are hosting quarantine concerts, DJ D-Nice is DJing. If you haven’t heard Nice is keeping the party going on Instagram Live. The legendary rapper and celebrity DJ, real name Derrick Jones, held a nine-hour concert on Instagram Live Wednesday from his Los Angeles condo to entertain fans during the quarantine.
Hoping to put his pandemic-weary audience into a dancing mood, D-Nice played a mix of hip hop and R&B classics but also made time for some smooth soul. The concert has since been dubbed “Homeschoolin’: Social Distancing Dance Party.”
And it’s been lit. From John Legend to Dave Chappelle celebs have also been logging on and requesting songs. He said he wanted to do the concert “out of love for y’all and getting through these times.”
Nice kept the party going on Thursday with a 7-hour set. On Friday Nice started Dj’ing at 3PM PST with some 3,000 people joining in.
If you’re not familiar, the legendary MC has been DJing for the last two decades. Nice has been Djing on stages as diverse as the Essence Festival to numerous brand parties. He also DJ’d the BET Networks x White House party where his dope beats and mixes brought everyone, including former President Barack Obama, to their feet.
Make sure you follow him on IG and get your party on.
