Crystal Smith Calls Split From Ne-Yo “God’s Will”

Crystal Smith is finally confirming reports that she and music star Ne-Yo are calling it quits. Just days after news dropped that the couple were getting a divorce, Smith issued a statement to Baller Alert.

“The accuracy is that he’s an amazing father and our kids are blessed to have a father like him. I wouldn’t take that back for anything in this world. Everything else is God’s will.”

Not entirely clear but time will tell.

Over the weekend, The Jasmine Brand broke the news that Smith was planning to file for divorce from her husband of nearly four years.

A source told the site, “Crystal left him. She’s had enough.” They also said the marriage has been in trouble for “quite some time” and that Crystal allegedly plans on filing for divorce this month.

Despite the reports, Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) has not addressed the allegations. Crystal however has been posting subtle and not so subtle hints about breaking up, moving on and loving yourself on her Instagram for several days. Not to mention all images of Ne-Yo have been completely removed. Just two days after the news of the split, Crystal posted a quote about never settling.

“I hope you never settle. I hope you hold to your standards in your dreams, relationships, respect. You deserve what you want and what you’ve been working towards.”

Meanwhile the “Good Man” singer was a painting a different story on his social media. On New Year’s Eve, Ne-Yo posted a photo of him and his better half kissing at dinner with a heartfelt message about love and marriage.

The couple tied the knot in February 2016 and went on to have two sons: four-year-old, Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., and two-year-old, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith. The 40-year-old singer also has two children with his previous girlfriend Monyetta Shaw. Shaw has claimed her ex was unfaithful in their relationship. Thankfully, everyone gets along while co-parenting.
