LL Cool J & Toni Braxton Headline 2025 Cincinnati Music Festival

Move over Essence Fest, the 2025 Cincinnati Music Festival is poised to also bring the heat this summer.

Presented by Procter & Gamble, the 3-day fest is set to electrify the city from July 24 to 26, blending legendary performances, cultural celebration, and community engagement into an unforgettable experience.

Hip-hop icon LL Cool J and R&B legend Toni Braxton have been tapped to headline Saturday night’s lineup at Paycor Stadium. This announcement follows Janet Jackson’s withdrawal due to personal reasons. Festival producer Joe Santangelo expressed enthusiasm about the updated lineup, stating, “Even though we got thrown a curveball, I think this is the most jam-packed lineup we’ve ever presented to our fans.”

A Rich Musical Heritage

Originating in 1962 as the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival, the Cincinnati Music Festival has evolved into a three-day celebration of R&B, jazz, soul, and hip-hop. Past performers include Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Whitney Houston, solidifying its reputation as a cornerstone of American music culture.

Economic and Cultural Impact

The festival is a significant cultural event, drawing over 90,000 attendees annually and contributing approximately $107.4 million to the regional economy.  With a lineup that celebrates the rich tapestry of R&B and hip-hop, the 2025 Cincinnati Music Festival promises an unforgettable weekend of music and culture.

More Than Just Music

The festival experience extends beyond performances. Festival 513, a free street fair adjacent to Paycor Stadium, offers attendees a chance to explore Black-owned businesses, enjoy local cuisine, and engage with community initiatives.

Black Music Walk Of Fame

As part of the weekend’s festivities the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame will host their 2025 Induction Ceremony & National Line Dance Fest on Saturday, July 26 at 12:00 PM. The star-studded event will feature performances by Regina Belle, Bigg Robb & Friends, and a massive line dance celebration. It’s free to the public.
