Busta Rhymes is back on the big screen as he stars in Paramount’s highly anticipated comedy, THE NAKED GUN, starring Liam Neeson.
Bussa Buss’s role in the Naked Gun reboot will mark the first time in nearly 10 years that he’ll be starring in a film. His last film role was 2016’s King of the Dancehall opposite Nick Cannon. He also famously had voiceover role in the Rugrats movie, and in The Boondocks(where he voiced Flonominal).
According to the release, the film will follow Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) as he follows in his bumbling father’s footsteps as head of the Police Department. Unfortunately chaos ensues and he must solve a murder case to prevent the department from shutting down and … saved the world.
It’s not clear who Busta will play, but per the trailer we see him being interrogated by Neeson’c character, so he’s definitely not on the police force. Also in the cast are Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, with Danny Huston.
THE NAKED GUN reboot is directed by Akiva Schaffer (Saturday Night Live, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping) and from produced by Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy). The film is slated to hit theaters in August.
