Zendaya Reveals If She Did Her Own Stunts In ‘Dune: Part Two”
Zendaya is doing her BIG One in Dune: Part Two.
Minutes in to Denis Villenueve’s epic adventure, it’s clear the sequel is bigger and more expansive than it’s predecessor (Dune: Part One) … and so is Zendaya’s role.
While Dune: Part One had minimal Chani (Zendaya appeared in Paul Atreides’s dreams before finally appearing in person at the end of the first film), she gets to take center stage in the sequel, commanding thrilling action sequences and high-stakes dramatic scenes opposite the likes of Javier Bardem and Rebecca Ferguson.
In Villeneuve’s second installment of his adaptation of the beloved Frank Herbert sci-fi novel of the same name, viewers are thrown right back into the fascinating, brutal, and fast-paced action on Arrakis, where the struggle for power over the coveted “melange” or “the spice” continues.
At the heart of the movie lies Chani, a fighter, Freman and love interest of Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet). She believes in Atreides before anyone else does, teaching him the ways of her people.
HipHollywood chatted with Zendaya (alongside newcomer Florence Pugh, who plays Princess Irulan) about taking on a larger role, running in loads of sand and if she did her own stunts.
Dune: Part Two also starring Austin Butler, Dave Bautista and Christopher Walken is in theaters now.
