Reps Say JT & Lil Uzi Vert BET Awards Altercation Was Not Over Ice Spice

A lot was going during the 2023 BET Awards including a heated argument between Lil Uzi Vert and his girlfriend JT.

On Sunday (June 25) several videos began circulating online showing the couple arguing while sitting front row. In one post the pair could be seen sitting and talking intensely while in another JT can be seen standing over Uzi whacking him with her phone multiple times. In the video she could also be heard calling him a “groupie.”

According to the internet rumor mill the lovers quarrel was all because Uzi was talking to fellow rapper Ice Spice who was sitting on the other side of him. Others also speculated it was because of Uzi’s performance during the BET Awards where he shouted out Ice Spice, rapping, “I got a nice wife/Wig came off twice/She got a little afro, she looks like Ice Spice.”

Now the City Girl rapper’s team is calling BS on those claims and sharing the real reason for the altercation. JT’s camp told TMZ Hip Hop her blowup with Uzi had nothing to do with Ice. Instead she had become frustrated when she lost her seat after the audience shuffled around.

Per her reps, JT loves Ice and there’s not even a shred of beef between them whatsoever.

Another social media post ( presumably from someone actually inside the show) explains the musical chairs debacle. In the video Ice Spice can also be heard explaining what happened with the seat shuffle.

Uzi and JT left the building together without another scene … seemingly confirming they’re good.
