Yeah! ‘Saturdays’ Cast Wants To Skate With Usher
Disney is rolling out a new series that’s sure to have you ready for the weekend.
Saturdays, is a feel good family show that only takes place on the best day of the week…Saturday! The coming-of-age comedy follows 14-year-old, Paris Johnson (Danielle Jalade) and her best friends Simone and Ari, as they hone their roller-skating skills on the cool parquet floor of Saturdays, a local skating rink in Chicago. Together they form the We-B-Girlz skate crew and are determined to show and prove they have the hottest skate routines on the planet!
HipHollywood chatted with the cast including Golden Brooks, Omar Gooding, plus executive producer Marsai Martin and director Norman Vance Jr. to get the scoop on their skating skills.
“I can’t go backwards or flip or anything but I can move, I can roll. I can actually roll,” said Martin with a big smile.
“I didn’t skate growing up,” said Gooding, “But I learned a lot on the audition and along the way.”
“It’s all about swag, even for the ladies,” added Brooks who also shared she’s a pretty good baker.
On the show Gooding and Brooks play Paris’ parents who while raising their two kids run a successful baking business. We also got them to dish on which celebrity they’d want to roll with and believe it or not they all picked Usher. Check it out below.
Saturdays premieres March 24th, on Disney Channel.
