Real Reason Why Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock

It was the slap heard all around the globe. During the 94th Academy Awards Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, which did not appear to go over well with her husband Will Smith.

While presenting the award for best documentary, Rock joked, “Jada I love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it.” The camera cut to Pinkett Smith, who rolled her eyes before her husband Will hit the stage and smacked Rock in the face.

He also shouted to the comedian to “keep my wife’s name out your f**king mouth” once returning to his seat. Many in the Oscars audience appeared stunned at the altercation, but it seems Smith was defending his wife’s honor.

Pinkett Smith has been open about her struggle with alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that leads to hair loss. Back in she spoke about the painful journey to losing her hair on her show Red Table Talk.

She also spoke with HipHollywood about wearing turbans as a transitional style.

This however isn’t the first time Will has slapped someone for disrespecting him or his family. You recall in 2012 he slapped a reporter in Moscow for trying to kiss him and HipHollywood was the first to capture it

Following his altercation with Rock, Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry could be seen talking to Smith trying to calm him down.

Rock were told declined to file a police report, but The Academy issued a statement saying they do not condone violence.
