Snoop Dogg Hilariously Mispronounces Golden Globes Nominees
Snoop Dogg announcing the Golden Globes nominations was everything we didn’t know we needed … and more.
The “Gin and Juice” rapper made a hilarious surprise cameo on Monday (Dec 13) when he presented the nominations for the 2022 Golden Globes … and mis-pronounced everybody’s name.
Of course once clips hit the net the rap icon was trending on Twitter.
One person tweeted, “Snoop Dogg saying Ben-a-fleck lives rent-free in my mind now.”
While another quipped, “Losing my mind over Snoop Dogg mispronouncing nearly every name on the list, but only stopping to apologize to Ben Affleck.”
Congrats to Ben Affleck(or how to Snoop Dogg like to call him “Been Afflack”) for his Golden Globe nomination. pic.twitter.com/dlLGXDiZhq

We don’t know whose idea this was but it was kind of genius. While the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — the voting body behind the Golden Globes — has been seeped in controversy following a bombshell Los Angeles Times investigative story that revealed ethical conflicts and a lack of diversity amongst its membership — the press conference still made headlines, thanks to Snoop.
Earlier this year, NBC, the telecast’s usual broadcast home, announced that it wouldn’t be airing the 2022 show. HFPA president, Helen Hoehne, said the show would go on and thanked HFPA “friend” Snoop for stepping in. Now folks are asking for Snoop to do this every year and even want him to host the awards show which will stream online January 9.
In the meantime Snoop has some big news to announce of his own. According to Variety, Starz is in development on an anthology series exploring Snoop’s 1993 murder trial. Working title , “A Moment in Time: Murder was the Case” will be executive produced by 50 Cent and Snoop. The project will be the second installment in an anthology series about criminal events behind the scenes of true moments in hip-hop history.
