San Francisco Does It Big For ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ Global Premiere

The Matrix is back and doing it big.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021 Warner Bros. hosted the world premiere of the highly anticipated return of The Matrix Resurrections at the Castro Theater in San Francisco — where a large majority of the film was shot. HipHollywood caught up with cast on the green carpet including Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss about returning to the franchise.

We also got a glimpse at some of the out of this world fashion on the green carpet.

Jada Pinkett Smith stunned in this red Giambattista Valli gown.

Carrie-Anne Moss wore a custom matrix-themed gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore a Halpern gown while Neil Patrick Harris looked sharp in a Berluti FW21 suit.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II wore head to toe Bottega Veneta.

After the premiere there was a red /blue pill themed after-party, complete with a DJ and fireworks show.

After nearly two decades and three previous films, director Lana Wachowski resurrected the franchise with The Matrix Resurrections starring Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss as cinematic icons Neo and Trinity. In the film, the duo return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it.

The film also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Matrix Resurrections  will be both in theaters and HBO Max this Wednesday, December 22.
