Diddy Says Jermaine Dupri Doesn’t Have Enough Hits To Battle Him
While fans were enjoying the Fat Joe and Ja Rule “Verzuz” battle on Tuesday night (Sept. 14) celebrities were also in the comment section.
One in particular was Diddy who reiterated who he wants to go up against for a Verzuz battle.
“Only person I would do is dre,” Diddy commented. According to reports Dr. Dre was considering it last year, but had second thoughts after seeing Teddy Riley go through major sound hiccups against Babyface.
No word on if he’s changed his mind, but Diddy isn’t interested in any other takers. After Jermaine Dupri hopped on Instagram and challenged Diddy to a battle he hilariously declined.
“Beloved you my n*gga,” he wrote in JD’s comment section. But your arms too short to box with God. You ain’t got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary. But I do have the upmost [sic] respect on you as a musical legend.”
He added, “[Dr.] Dre the only one [who] can get in the ring w me.”

Dupri who was in the live audience at Madison Square Garden watching Fat Joe and Ja Rule face off, didn’t respond. Some of his friends and music colleagues did however. Usher, Tyrese and T.I. all seem to think a face off between JD and Diddy would be great.
TMZ pulled up on Usher — who has worked closely with both stars — and asked him about his thoughts on the potential matchup.
“Being a part of the hits that [Dupri] has, I can’t say that,” he said. “He has plenty of hits, and I think that Diddy does, too. It’s hard for me, ‘cause they both my brothers,” he went on, adding, “It could definitely be a great one.”
