J. Lo And A. Rod Call It Quits For Real This Time, Claim To Be “Better As Friends”

The fairytale has come to an end for real this time. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have split, but the two claim they are just “better as friends.”

The news doesn’t come as a shock, but fans are saddened to hear that after getting engaged in 2019 J. Lo and A. Rod have decided not to walk down the aisle. The two revealed the news in an exclusive joint statement to TODAY:

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Initially, the pair had planned two nuptials both set to take place in 2020, but they were delayed due to COVID. Then just last month, rumors swirled that the couple had taken a trip to spilitsville and decided to stay. However, just one day later, J. Rod refuted the claims and stated they were “working through some things.”

We should have known something was brewing when Alex posted this emotional tribute of sorts, showcasing memorable photos and items from his relationship with Jen.

One thing that was noticeably missing was the giant 1.8 million dollar engagement ring Rodriguez gave to Lopez. Sources tell TMZ that Jenny from the block still has the rock, but no word on if she plans to return it to the former MLB slugger.
