Franklin Family Feud: Kirk Apologizes Again … Denies Physically Abusing Son
Kirk Franklin is sharing more details about his relationship with his oldest son, Kerrion Franklin.
After audio of a heated argument between Franklin and his son leaked, the gospel star sat down for an in-depth interview on Tamron Hall. According to Franklin he and the 33-year-old have had their challenges over the years but things never got physical as Kerrion alleged.
“I’m confident that his mother, myself, Tammy, my family, there’s never been anything physical that concerns me, or even makes me uncomfortable because I know the truth, he knows the truth, and I love him,” he said.
Franklin, who appeared on the show with wife Tammy, also addressed those who were disappointed by his language.
“People have every right to be disappointed to hear me use that language, I’m disappointed in myself for using that language. And at the same time, I’m human,” he said.
ICYMI, Kirk went full on Plies on his son (from a previous relationship) and even threatened to break his neck during the heated argument. On Saturday he then addressed the matter on his Instagram account and apologized to his fans.

At the time it wasn’t clear what prompted the argument between the two. Kerrion posted the expletive laced argument with his father to his Instagram account. He also posted old Jet Magazine covers which featured the Franklin family.
“I’m finally out of a 14 year deep hole of chaos & confusion,” he wrote.”This the last picture I was “allowed to take with my family.”

In another post he claimed Franklin had physically attacked him and cut him off financially. Kirk told Tamron issues began when his son was a teen, but he’s never given up on him.
“I’m not going to stop trying to help, you know, he’s my son,” he said fighting back tears. “He’s my son, he’s my firstborn, and I never want him to feel what I felt not having a father. So even though it gets tense and tight when he calls from time to time I will answer his call, even though I expect it to sometimes kind of derail. It’s important for me because what if that call is the call that things change. So I never know. And I never want to give up.”
