Ray J Says He Could Be Friends With Kanye West

Ray J — who somehow always provides us with unlimited comedy and classic moments — is in the news again!

The reality star recently sat down with Genius for an episode of “Between The Lines” to break down lyrics that have mentioned him over the past years. Of all the lyrics he breaks down — from artists like Eminem, City Girls’ JT, and Rick Ross — he finally addresses Kanye West mentioning him on the track “Highlights” from his album The Life Of Pablo.

Interestingly Ray J laughs off the lyrics, but admits he had never heard them in full.

“That’s what it say in the song?, he asked. “No, it don’t. That was cool. That was like he was having a conversation. I didn’t know it said all of that.”

On the track Ye raps:

“I bet me and Ray J would be friends, If we ain’t love the same bitch/ Yeah, he might have hit it first/Only problem is I’m rich (I’m rich, I’m rich, I’m rich).”

In response Ray said he could actually be friends with Kanye.

“Maybe we might need to be friends now? Everybody needs to put all that shit behind us. It’s 2021. It’s all love over here. Let’s bring all the love together.”

It’s actually not a far fetched idea. They do have a lot in common ( money, music, women). Now that Ye and Kim Kardashian are splitting, they’d also have a lot to talk about.
