Wendy Williams’ Brother Claims She Didn’t Attend Their Mother’s Funeral
Wendy Williams’ brother is calling her out for not attending their mother’s funeral.
After he already contradicted Williams’ claims of when their mother Shirley actually passed, he’s now claiming the talk show queen didn’t come to the funeral at all.
“My mother always said stand by your family and your sisters,” Tommy Williams said in a video posted on his YouTube channel. “But what makes somebody not go to their mother’s funeral?”
”I don’t understand how a person can miss out on giving a salute to the one person who is always there, who always showed support,”he continued. “I don’t understand how a person cannot go to a funeral and hold up the one person or the family member that you do have, the parent that you do have left, and just move on. Keep it moving. I don’t understand how to keep living somebody who could cause that type of pain.”
According to Tommy, Shirley Williams passed November 29, despite Wendy’s claims on a December 7 episode of her show that her mother died, “many, many, many, many weeks ago.”
Tommy said Williams did attend their mother’s wake the day before the funeral with her 19-year-old son Kevin Jr. He also revealed Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter attended the funeral.
“Wendy’s ex Kevin came out to support the family and I appreciate that,” he added. “There’s no malice that I have towards him, never will be there. He made a choice, it was a poor choice and it was the one that broke the camel’s back. –But I appreciate him coming to the funeral for my mother.”
After Shirley’s passing The Wendy Williams Show announced the host would be taking some time off to be with her family. We’re not sure why she opted not to attend the funeral … but it’s clear she’s been dealing with a lot and losing her mother probably didn’t help.
Shirley worked as a teacher in New Jersey. She’s survived by her husband, Thomas Williams Sr., as well as her children, Wendy, Wanda and Thomas Williams.
