India.Arie Laughs Off Rumor She Dated Chris Tucker … For 13 Years

Another day another celebrity dating rumor.  The internet is NOW convinced India.Arie and Chris Tucker have been dating for the past 13 years. How they kept their romance a secret for over a decade is mind boggling since everyone these days is a detective or a super sleuth, but here we are.

It all got started when G Steven Roper posted this tweet.

He didn’t give any other details, facts or receipts, but Twitter was still shook and the chatter began.

“HOLD ON. So not only have India Arie and Chris Tucker been dating, they been together since 2007?!?! THIRTEEN YEARS??” someone penned. While another wrote, “I’m definitely more enthused to keep my relationship a secret after hearing about India.Arie and Chris Tucker.”

Eventually the Grammy award-winning soul singer got wind of the rumor and decided to respond.

“Me and Chris Tucker bee dating for 13 years?! Whew Chile! Thats some STRONG BLACK (LOVE) Tea,” she tweeted with a GIF of Michelle Obama laughing.

This isn’t the first time reports have stated that the pair was an item. Outlets in 2007 claimed that Tucker and Arie were dating after they were spotted together at the opening of Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy For Girls in South Africa.

A source told Page Six (via Daily Dash), “They traveled together to South Africa over the holidays for Oprah Winfrey’s party and school opening, and they were also together at Mary J. Blige’s pre-Grammy party at Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s house in L.A.”

In 2015, it was reported that the 48-year-old comedian was engaged to his then-girlfriend Cynne Simpson, an Atlanta news anchor. The pair have since broken up.

Tucker was married to Azja Pryor for six years. The two exchanged vows sometime in 1997, and split in 2003. Together, they have a son named Destin Christopher Tucker, who was born in 1998.

Meanwhile the “I Am Not My Hair” songstress has been pretty private about her relationships. Last year she told the ladies of The Real that she was engaged once before and still desires to be married.
