Floyd Mayweather Will Pay For George Floyd’s Funeral
Floyd Mayweather has offered to pay for George Floyd’s funeral services. The boxing superstar is personally vowing to help Floyd’s family grieve their loss.
According to reports Mayweather is offering to finance all 4 services for Floyd in Houston, Minnesota, Charlotte and another location to be named at a later date. Sources close to Mayweather say he felt it was the right thing to do after learning Anzel Jennings — CEO of the TMT music label — grew up with George.
“Floyd is just doing what he feels is right in his heart,” said the source.
George Floyd’s family has accepted Mayweather’s offer. Mayweather has already ponied up $88K to the funeral home.
Meanwhile an independent autopsy conducted by the family of George Floyd has found that his death on May 25 was indeed a homicide and was caused by asphyxiation from sustained pressure to his neck and his back.
The findings contradict those of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner who say his cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest while being restrained by law enforcement. The ME released his official report on Monday also calling Floyd’s death a homicide but noting they he had fentanyl in his system and also found signs of methamphetamine use.
The fact that both autopsy’s call Floyd’s death a homocide, is more reason protestors are calling for the other three officers — J Alexander Kueng, Tou Thao, and Thomas Lane, to be charged.
Jay Z has spoken out about the tragic death of George Floyd and even said he made a call to Governor Walz to help get the remaining officers charged.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced on Sunday that Attorney General Keith Ellison will now take the lead in the case of Floyd’s killing, as tensions across the country continue to rise.
