Fans Mourn WWE Star Shad Gaspard As His Body Was Found On Venice Beach

There’s no question — Shad Gaspard is a hero. The WWE star selflessly sacrificed his own life to ensure the life of his son. And now, fans are sharing heartfelt condolences on social media as his body recently washed ashore on Venice Beach.

Gaspard initially went missing on Sunday afternoon when he, his son, Aryeh, and a group of swimmers, got caught up in a rip current just south of the Venice Pier. When lifeguards attempted to save Shad he sent them in the direction of his 10-year-old son instead … Aryeh was rescued, but when guards returned for Gaspard he had already gone under.

Early Wednesday morning, a citizen called cops to report a body seen on the beach. Officials confirmed that the body matched the description of Gaspard — African-American male, 6’6″, 240lbs.

Instantly, fans flocked to Twitter to post sentimental messages and regard the 39-year-old as a hero.
