Tekashi 6ix9ine Freed From Prison Due To Coronavirus
Tekashi 6ix9ine is a free man. The rapper real name Daniel Hernandez was just released from a New York state prison and its all thanks to the coronavirus.
According to NBC News, a judge recommended Tekashi be released because his asthma makes him more vulnerable to the virus.
Judge Paul Engelmayer made the recommendation on Wednesday (April 1) saying he “could not have known that the final four months of Mr. Hernandez’s sentence would be served at a time of a worldwide pandemic to which persons with asthma, like Mr. Hernandez, have heightened vulnerability.”
He continued, “Had the Court known that sentencing Mr. Hernandez to serve the final four months of his term in a federal prison would have exposed him to a heightened health risk, the Court would have directed that these four months be served instead in home confinement.”
Tekashi was initially supposed to be in prison until July 31.
The rapper infamously testified against his alleged fellow gang members with hopes of reducing his potential 47-year sentence for racketeering and other serious crimes last year.
While it’s not confirmed where he’ll go, it’s speculated that he’ll be on house arrest.
