The Oscars Pulled An Oscars Again … This Year’s Biggest Snubs!
The Academy has pissed off folks once again, but this time multiple minority groups are calling for change!
The lack of diversity among the Oscar nominees is embarrassing at this point. The Academy has overlooked not only Black talent, but talent from various groups and folks on Twitter are sounding off. Some of the snubs this year include Jennifer Lopez, Awkwafina, Director Greta Gerwig, Eddie Murphy and Lupita Nyong’o.
No Lupita. No Taron Egerton. No Adam Sandler. No Awkwafina. No Jennifer Lopez. Nothing for The Farewell. One nomination for Knives Out.
I’m bout to knock all this shit over.#OscarNoms pic.twitter.com/863Aon1fh3— ethan (@thebeachb0y) January 13, 2020
The award-giving bodies are intentionally pushing Beyoncé OUT. Campaigning might not have changed anything. Homecoming had SIX rightful Emmy wins and went home with ZERO. And that’s with the biggest hype and an active campaign.

ABC realizing they now have an Oscar broadcast now with no JLo, no Beyonce, no Eddie, no host and #OscarsSoWhite pic.twitter.com/twOjFfFHeo

Above all, people seemed to be the most upset at the Academy for overlooking Lupita’s phenomenal role(s) in “Us”.
The Academy dead ass looked at Lupita Nyong'o and said, "We prefer you as a slave."

scarlett johansson being nominated for an oscar while lupita nyong'o is snubbed is literally white privilege
— angel (@dykesinfilm) January 13, 2020
Y’all love your black women in the key of slave narrative over there in Hollywood. Lupita was sitting right there playing 2 goddamn roles.

Also, Murphy’s major comeback in “Dolemite is my Name” being snub set folks off!
In light of today's #Oscar nominations (or lack therof) this clip from 1988 of Eddie Murphy seeeeriously calling out the Academy before he announces Best Picture is too good to not share.
"I'll probably never win an Oscar for saying this, but what the hey, I gotta say it." pic.twitter.com/IMAiCiHYTn

Eddie Murphy already knew how today would go #OscarNoms #OscarsSoWhite pic.twitter.com/p8TKiNs4TB

Also, possibly the biggest fucking snub that's gone largely unmentioned, Eddie Murphy for MY NAME IS DOLEMITE.
Really? That performance isn't award worthy?
Come the fuck on…

In the beginning of awards season everyone thought J. Lo would be among the Oscar nominees for her performance in “Hustlers” … however, her name wasn’t on the list either.
No Oscars love for J. Lo in HUSTLERS?! Let’s unpack this and revisit her LA critics acceptance speech:
“Ramona, like so many of us, was a mass of contradictions… a female character with a type of depth that is usually reserved for the men in Hollywood” https://t.co/BJmGmZIeC7 pic.twitter.com/Ja4smEr0j6
— jen yamato (@jenyamato) January 13, 2020
white people lose a bunch of weight and act "crazy" and the academy loses their shit but j lo hoists herself to the top of a stripper pole at age 50 and nada? bitch.

JLO wasn’t nominated. Fuck off Oscars pic.twitter.com/pJ4kKszomc

And y’all know, anytime Beyonce’s name isn’t mentioned there’s a problem. The BeyHive thought her song “Spirit” for “The Lion King” was a sure bet — unfortunately, they were wrong.
The award-giving bodies are intentionally pushing Beyoncé OUT. Campaigning might not have changed anything. Homecoming had SIX rightful Emmy wins and went home with ZERO. And that’s with the biggest hype and an active campaign.

But u know what…the day Beyoncé stops doing award shows altogether will be the day MEDIOCRITY will become HYPER VISIBLE….at some point she will only attend when she's HONOURED pic.twitter.com/VDEXiLlNtq

But, it wasn’t all bad news. At least a few of our faves were recognized…
Matthew Cherry – Best Animated Short for “Hair Love”

Cynthia Erivo – nominated for her acting role in “Harriet” and for the song “Stand Up”.
