Kudos! John Legend Just Became The First Black Man To Accomplish This Major Feat…

John is out here on his Legend ish!

Living up to his name — quite spectacularly so — and breaking down barriers, John Legend has just become the first African-American man to secure EGOT status!

What is EGOT status, you ask? It’s when someone wins an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. It’s a rare feat, and even more rare for a person of color. The only other person with melanin to accomplish this major feat is Whoopi Goldberg.

Legend won an Emmy during Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys for his role in the NBC musical “Jesus Christ Superstar Live.” In addition, here are his other EGOT accolades:

10 Grammys
1 Oscar (Best Original Song, “Glory”)
1 Tony (Co-Producer, Best Revival of a Play for the Broadway show, “Jitney”)

John was beaming with pride over his historic win, and of course, his wifey Chrissy Teigen, was equally estactic.
