The most popular song off Drake’s Scorpion album is without a doubt “In My Feelings” and it’s all thanks to social media comedian Shiggy. But if you are believing reports that the Toronto Bred MC paid Shiggy 250K for helping the song reach the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts … think again.
Despite the viral success of the #InMyFeelings dance challenge, and big name celebrities like Will Smith, Odell Beckham Jr., Ciara and many more taking part, Shiggy says he hasn’t been paid a dime.
In an Instagram Live video, you can see Shiggy laughing at the rumors of his supposed payment saying “N***as is lying,” adding, “$250,000? What kind of sh*t is going on, man? You think he walking around with a checkbook in the club?”
At the top of the week, the same day the song hit number one, Drake and Shiggy met for the first time at a club. It’s not even certain if it was planned or coincidence, but there was definitely no exchange of money taking place.
Drake did post a photo on his Instagram page and thanked Shiggy profusely for his work and creating the dance craze saying: “Met the legend on the night we went number one.”
He also posted a video on his IG live shouting out Shiggy: “Man got me a No. 1 record today. Oh my God!,” exclaimed Drake.
