NeNe Leakes just shared some sad news with her fans. On Wednesday afternoon the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star revealed via her Instagram account that her husband Gregg Leakes has been diagnosed with cancer.
Leakes posted a message along with a photo of Greg sitting in a doctors office next to a computer monitor that read Cancer with the word crossed out in red. She captioned the photo:
“Our New Normal and the fight begins👊 #f—kcancer🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾#mdandersoncancercenter #yougotthis#iloveyou.”
While the news is devastating, fans may have already been aware that Gregg was having health problems for the last few months.
NeNe announced in May that she was canceling her upcoming comedy shows because Gregg, 63, had been in the hospital for more than two weeks. Gregg’s health issues were also documented on a November 2017 episode of RHOA when he was hospitalization for a “dangerously low” heart rate.
Leakes returned to Instagram Thursday morning and gave an optimistic update to her followers revealing that his “cancer was removed” after a visit to MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also asked her followers for advice regrading chemotherapy.
“We have been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support, thoughtfulness & prayers,” she posted in a note between doctor’s visits. “Some of you have educated us on cleanses, diets and holistic healthcare. We wouldn’t know some of these things if it wasn’t for the reach we have been blessed to have. So far, Gregg is doing great! He feels good with the exception of not being able to eat a lot. The cancer was removed! Now we have to decide whether we do chemo or not? Would you?”
In another note, Leakes thanked her reality show co-stars who have sent her well wishes, gifts and support, including on-again off-again friend Kim Zolciak-Biermann.
