Look. At. God! Lil Wayne will finally see some money is his bank account AND he’ll finally be able to drop Tha Carter V! Jesus loves him, this we know…
After years of fighting Birdman, Cash Money and Universal Music Group for his hard earned money, Lil Wayne finally emerges victorious. Initially, Weezy had sued the trio for $51 million alleging he had been duped out of the funds over a number of years. But, the “Lollipop” rapper’s attorney filed papers on May 23rd saying all sides are ready to dismiss the lawsuit. A settlement was in the works!
While Wayne didn’t get all 51 milli, he did get an eight-figure settlement which, according to The Blast, was well over $10 million. So, who’s footing the bill? Well, although the source of contention was between Wayne and Cash Money head honcho (and the rapper’s former father figure) Bryan “Birdman” Williams, BW isn’t paying one red cent. It’s Universal that wrote the big check and apparently they were cool with it because they know the return on their investment will come by way of Drake and Nicki Minaj.
And the even better news? Now that Weezy F. Baby is officially done with Cash Money, he can release the loooooong-awaited Carter V album under Universal.
Will Wayne now return to being the “best rapper alive”?
