More details are starting to unravel about Lil Rel Howery’s new Fox show, Rel.
The actor, who made a huge splash in Hollywood following his appearance in the Academy Award winning film, Get Out, tells us his forthcoming series is based off of “my material, my life. I’m executive producing it along with Jerrod Carmichael.”
It was also confirmed on Tuesday that comedian Sinbad and Instagram sensation, Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore have been added to the cast.
According to Deadline, Sinbad will play Rel’s father who cares “more about his reputation in the community than he does about the happiness of his sons.”
As for Jess, the personality, who is known for her outspoken and witty commentary on social media, will be the female lead alongside Howery. Jess will be replacing Angel Laketa Moore, who was first tapped to play the role.
After the initial announcement, Jess wrote on Instagram: “Let’s Go!!! 2018.”
The sitcom will follow Rel’s personal life experiences and personal woes, including maneuvering adulthood after his wife cheats on him with his own barber.
As Rel gets underway, Lil Rel has a handful of projects to look forward to, including his film, Uncle Drew.
