One Couple Noticeably Absent From Kanye’s Iconic Couples Series

Kanye West made his triumphant return to Instagram after deleting his account last May, posting 55 photos in a row of iconic couples The series ended with him and his wife Kim Kardashian, as expected. But an interesting omission in West’s list—which included the Obamas, Kennedys, Will and Jada, Bobby and Whitney and  even fictitious couple Carry and Big from Sex in the City —was Jay Z and Beyoncé.

Jay Z and West were longtime friends and collaborators until Kanye went on that emotional rant at his concerts back in 2016. If you recall West made several remarks not only about his mentor Jay, but also his wife Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy.

Jay, of course didn’t let the disrespect slide, and made took some subliminal (but not really subliminal) jabs at Ye on his album “4:44.”

In November 2017, Jay Z himself told T magazine that while things are “complicated” between them, he and West were still talking. “I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he’s my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It’s a complicated relationship with us.”

Jay Z explained further that yes, there’s tension, but they will move past it—though West’s Instagram omission of Jay Z now suggests they may not have yet.
