Is LeBron James bringing back the 90’s hit classics, House Party? Not quite. NBA champion, is however, producing something that provided the same vibe as Kid ‘n Play and co.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, James and his SpringHill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter, will be behind a new style of House Party for this generation. “This is definitely not a reboot,” James confirmed to the news outlet. “It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie.”

He explained, “Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable.”

The 90’s films, which starred rap duo, Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin, certainly had an allure simply because of the faces attached to the project. So will the new project have a famous rapper attached to the franchise?

“We’re trying out some ideas for musicians to be cast in and to be a part of the project,” Carter said. “There’s no plan for it now, but he’s a fantastic actor, and if he wants a role, Stephen will find a great role to put him in.”

Names that could be an idea … Drake, who is known for his role on Degrassi; and of course, Ice Cube, Ice T, LL Cool J and Will Smith.

And for all of you have never seen one of the House Party films, you are missing out. In the meantime, here’s a fun clip.
