Beyonce Shares Shocking Statistics About Girls Around The World In New Video

In honor or International Day of the Girl, Beyonce produced an emotional yet empowering visual in collaboration with Chime for Change and The Global Goals.

The video shows a group of young girls dancing to the singer’s hit track “Freedom” while statistics regarding health and education appear across the screen.

One stat suggests that one girl dies every five minutes as a result of violence. Some of the other shocking statistics include the study that 71 percent of human trafficking victims are female, that 63 million girls have undergone female genital mutilation, 130 million girls are out of school and that girls are twice as likely to become infected with HIV.

The video concludes with this final thought: “Girls around the world are fighting for their freedom every day.”
