The Internet is going IN on Sammy Sosa, the former MLB player who just isn’t looking himself these days. The general consensus being: What happened to the brown man we knew him to be?
The Dominican Republic native made headlines several years ago after looking lighter than usual. After being accused of bleaching his skin, the former athlete blamed the lightening of his skin on a creme he thought was meant for simply softening.
During an interview back in 2009 with Univision, he said, “It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften (my skin), but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily.”
Well fast forward to 2017, Sosa’s skin is still going down on the brown spectrum. In fact, it’s leaning more towards pink.
Earlier this week, Sosa sat down with ESPN Deportes reporter Enrique Rojas to talk about … well … nobody knows because fans were too focused on his appearance.
Showing up in a pink fedora and pink shirt, the monochromatic ensemble seemingly brought out his new pink skin color. Folks on Twitter couldn’t get enough and of course, once again blasted the 48-year-old for changing his skin color.
