R. Kelly’s Response To Sex Cult Claims: I’m Alarmed And Disturbed
R. Kelly is shutting down reports that he is behind an “abusive cult” and is housing a group of young women against their will.
“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him,” a rep for Kelly said in a statement. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
BuzzFeed released a detailed article this week that took readers inside the Pied Piper’s real lifestyle and what they considered, “guilt.”
Per the report, the iconic r&b crooner is the brains behind a sex cult in which he holds women against their will, gives them a list of rules to follow and physically punishes them for insubordination. He tapes their sexapades, dictates when they eat, bathe and use the restroom, and completely brainwashes them.
Three parents, who opted out of giving their names, even spoke with the news outlet about essentially losing their children.
According to one mother, she hasn’t seen her 19-year-old daughter since December 2016. “It was as if she was brainwashed. [She] looked like a prisoner — it was horrible,” she said. “I hugged her and hugged her. But she just kept saying she’s in love and [Kelly] is the one who cares for her. I don’t know what to do. I hope that if I get her back, I can get her treatment for victims of cults. They can reprogram her. But I wish I could have stopped it from happening.”
One alleged victim spoke with TMZ and suggested she was fine and that she’s staying with Kells by choice. 21-year-old Joycelyn Savage claimed, “I’m in a happy place. I’m not being brainswashed. I just want everyone to know that I’m totally fine, I’m happy where I’m at.” Never been feeling hostage, never.”
Joycelyn’s father, Tim Savage, responded with a video suggesting that her daughter didn’t unveil her location because she’s isn’t allowed to. And in response to threats that Kelly’s team might go after his accusers, Savage suggested, “Mr. R. Kelly, if you want to file a lawsuit, you should’ve filed it yesterday. I’m waiting on you … And Jocelyn, I’m praying for you baby.”
