The nation woke up on Wednesday morning to a series of shocking tweets from President Donald Trump announcing the reinstated ban on transgender people in the military.

The new call for action would be reversal of a policy put in place by Barack Obama in 2016, allowing transgender men and women to openly serve in the military.

“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,” Trump tweeted.

The Donald continued, “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”

He concluded the series of tweets with, “thank you.”

Following the Twitter tirade and shocking plans, several celebrities, including Laverne Cox and Caitlyn Jenner, spoke out in anger.

Cox released a statement hatred:

“I have met many transgender Americans over the years who have served or are currently serving our country in the military. I have heard from them humiliating stories of being misgendered and experiencing various kinds of mistreatment when they are willing to put their lives on the line in ways many of us would never do including our current President. This latest reversal of another Obama administration policy continues to send the message to trans Americans that our lives, our safety and service are less valuable and unwanted in this country, the country I love and hold so dear.”

Jenner tweeted: “There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?”

Famous transgender rights activist, Janet Mock tweeted: “There are many ways to serve our communities/countries. Trans folk have done vital work, putting bodies on the line unlike .” She added, “Shameful that trans folk are being used as scapegoats in another non-issue (military, bathrooms, etc) to distract from your shortcomings.”

Kerry Washington wrote: “To the transgender men and women. Please know that I am standing with you.”

Ellen DeGeneres tweeted: “We should be grateful to the people who wish to serve, not turn our backs on them. Banning transgender people is hurtful, baseless and wrong.”

John Legend retweeted a Florida congresswoman: “No American, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be prohibited from honor + privilege of serving our nation .”

Taraji is finally letting the world know what it already knew – she’s in a relationship with NFL cornerback Kelvin Hayden. Henson dished the (cold) tea while on Essence’s Yes, Girl! podcast saying that the reason she kept it a secret was because she’s a private person.

“I’m not the type to blast my personal business. But, you know, I think that’s important for people to know. I’m happy. I’m very very happy. I just am,” the “Empire” actress shared.

Rumors first circulated in December 2015 about Henson and 34-year-old Hayden, who played for the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts, after photos surfaced of the pair holding hands in Miami. Though Hayden has appeared on her Instagram feed, the Golden Globe winner never confirmed the intimate details until now.

“You know, we’ve been together for two years. No one would really know that because I don’t really blast my info like that. But I’m very happy,” she said.

Taraji girl we could tell. The Hidden Figures actress even broke out singing, “Finally! It has happened to me,”—quoting the CeCe Peniston‘s song “Finally.”

Henson also revealed the couple will be celebrating the holidays together with the new puppy Hayden gifted her with as an early Christmas present.

“Big #KBall with Lil squirt #KBall watching daddy brush his teeth! 😩😂😂😂,” she wrote, teasing a photo of her boo and new pup.

And speaking of Christmas, in case you missed it Taraji hosted her “White Hot Holidays” special on Fox Wednesday night. Peep the clips of Henson having some fun with her celebrity guests including Method Man, DJ Khaled, Neicy Nash, Salt-N-Pepa and The Ying Yang Twins.
