Kanye West and Jay Z’s friendship is what one would call dead in the water. And what’s to blame? Money, money, money, monnneeey, mooonnnneeeyy.

Nearly one day following the release of Jay’s album 4:44, reports hit the web that Kanye West, who was called out on Jigga’s new project, was looking to pull out of Tidal because of a money dispute.

According to reports, the music streaming company owes Kim Kardashian’s husband over $3 million and now, he wants to bounce. But here’s where things get tricky.

Ye allegedly became at odds with the company after not receiving a bonus for the success of his last alum, The Life of Pablo. Now, as the rapper attempts to terminate his agreement, Tidal, is turning up the heat and reportedly threatening to sue the rapper for breach of contract; this according to TMZ.

But we wonder, how much of Ye’s fight to end his relationship with Jay is really over the New York rapper’s recent diss on 4:44. On a track titled “Kill Jay Z,” he raps of Kanye:

“You dropped outta school, you lost your principles, I know people backstab you, I felt bad too,” he raps. “But this ‘f*ck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural, But you ain’t a Saint, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye, You gave him 20 million without blinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinkin’? ‘F*ck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin, But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”

That $20 million line is a reference to the $20 million dollars Jay allegedly gave Kanye to stay with Tidal and not sign a deal with Apple Music.

So … we guess there won’t be a Watch the Throne 2.0?

Ye, meanwhile, seems to be unbothered by the chatter. Over the weekend, West and 2Chainz spent quality family time together.
