LeBron James just had his home in Los Angeles defaced with N-word graffiti. According to USA Today, multiple LAPD units responded this morning when neighbors saw the word scrawled on the outer gate. It was covered up until it can be properly cleaned off.

The NBA star bought the house back in 2015, but does not live there on a regular basis. He was not home when his house was targeted.

LeBron responded during a press conference saying,”No matter how much money you have no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough.”

He also referenced the Mother of Emmitt Till. Emmitt was a 14-year-old black teen who was brutally murdered as a result of a hate crime back in 1955. Stating that this experience reminded him of why she held an open casket funeral — to remind everyone of what her son went through as a victim of a hate crime.

Full Statement:

“On my behalf and my family’s behalf, I look at it like this: if this is going to shed a light and continue the conversation … then I’m OK with it,” James said. “My family is safe … and that’s the most important. Just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. Hate in America for African-Americans is living every day, even though it’s concealed most of the time.”

“And I think back to Emmett Till’s mom, actually,” James said of the African-American teenager who was lynched in Mississippi in the 1950s. “One of the things I thought of, one of the reasons she had an open casket, was because she wanted to show the world what her son went through as far as a hate crime, being black in America.”

“No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough,” he said. “We got a long way to go, for us as a society, and for us as African-Americans, until we feel equal in America.”

LAPD detectives are investigating and going over security cameras in the neighborhood. We hope they catch these sickos.

It all started with an ill-worded tweet … and ended with an apology and a shocking revelation!

After gymnast Gabby Douglas’ Final Five teammate Aly Raisman posted a message about supporting sexual assault victims, Douglas responded with a message of her own.

Almost immediately, Douglas felt the swift blow-back her insensitive tweet brought about. Even Simon Biles, another Final Five member, had to check Gabby.

Facing harsh criticism and heated social media comments, Douglas apologized. But, in her apology the Olympian revealed that she, too had been a victim of Dr. Larry Nassar, the Team USA doctor that was accused of sexually assaulting Raisman, McKayla Maroney and others. Gabby’s public plea was posted on Instagram with the caption, “please hear my heart.”

The jury’s still out on whether the masses will forgive Gabby, but at least Nassar will get his due punishment. He pleaded guilty to several counts of sexually assault today and faces 25 to 40 years in prison.
