Zoe Saldana shocked the world when she recently revealed that she and husband Marco Perego were the proud parents of a new baby boy. Now the 38-year-old is opening up about the decision to expand her family, and revealed having two sisters may have had a lot to do with it.
“I love being a sister and I love having siblings,” confessed Saldana, who is also the mother of 2-year-old twins Cy and Bowie. “I can’t imagine what it would be like to be a single child. Saldana showed off baby Zen on her Instagram page back in February. She told us going back to work and leaving her baby boys at home to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was extremely tough.
“I love the movie once I watch it, but waking up at 2:30 in the morning just wasn’t fun. I wasn’t the nicest of all people. I just wanted to be a B-I-T-C-H like so bad,” she joked. “Especially when you have kids you are leaving behind, it was grueling.”
Thankfully, she got some good advice on weathering the storm from a female producer friend. “She told me when she had to go back to work, ‘There’s nothing you can do but enjoy what you do,’ because if you’re miserable, you’re going to make everyone else around you miserable.”
Saldana also shared some sweet words of wisdom she’s learned about raising twins for expectant mom of two, Beyonce. “Routines will save your sanity,” she laughed. “It will save your health and it will save your marriage.”
