One day after paying their final respects to the late Charlie Murphy, fellow comedians George Lopez and DL Hughley got tattoos in honor of their dear friend.

Lopez and Hughley hit up a tattoo parlor in New York on Thursday night and got matching ink on the sides of their hands. Both read Murphy’s nickname, “Darkness.”

Lopez posted a snapshot on Instagram alongside Hughley right after getting inked up at Fun City Tattoo. “Eternal #Darkness is spreading,” he captioned the image.

Darkness was a nickname Rick James gave Charlie back in the ’80s, a period in his career that Murphy talked about during his skits on Chappelle’s Show.

Murphy died last week following a battle with leukemia. He was laid to rest in New Jersey on Wednesday. RIP, Charlie.
