Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Harris have another hit record on their hands.

The former Xscape singer/songwriters have now been given credit on Ed Sheeran’s hit single “Shape Of You” … but not for actually writing the song.

Sheeran awarded Burruss and Harris (previously Tameka Cottle) credit because of the subtle similarities between his song and their hit “No Scrubs.” Burruss, Harris and Kevin Briggs wrote the song for TLC back in 1999 and it went on to be their highest-selling record.

Sheeran’s single originally only had himself, producer Steve Mac, and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid as writers, but fans have been pointing out that “Shape of You” and “No Scrubs” carried similarities since its release back in January.

The song, from Sheeran’s latest album Divide, is currently No.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Burruss thanked Sheeran for the nod on Instagram, writing, “Congrats #EdSheeran for having the #1 album! & thank you for allowing @majorgirl & I to share in the success of #ShapeOfYou! #1 for 7 weeks!”

We’re not sure if these two tracks ACTUALLY sound alike, but you be the judge.

We think Sheeran and his team may have quietly awarded credit to prevent another copyright infringement lawsuit, as the ginger songwriter previously faced one for similarities between “Thinking Out Loud” and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”
